Energy efficiency through exact measurements

The shortage of energy resources and the resulting energy price development, the increasing uncertain security of supply due to the highly fluctuating, regenerative energies as well as the climate protection and the associated limitations of emissions are increasingly strengthening the demand for energy efficiency.

But how do you tackle this topic best?

An important step is to first identify the energy-intensive areas in a company in order to reduce resources, emissions and costs in the future. A tailor-made measuring concept makes this possible.

At SAF-HOLLAND, a corresponding concept was already drafted in 2015. Since then, this concept has been implemented step by step, continuously optimized and expanded.

So far, 16 large and medium consumers (> 38,000 kWh/a) as well as compressor and transformer stations and backup rooms can be measured – many more measuring points are planned. Through the measurements, the consumption can be continuously monitored and appropriate optimization measures can be initiated, which lead to the desired energy savings.

Furthermore, based on the already elaborated measurement concept, load peaks of SAF-HOLLAND were analyzed for optimization.

With the completion of the measuring concept, we expect energy savings of around 17% per year, measured by the total energy consumption of the German locations of SAF-HOLLAND GmbH.
